Welcome to Random Mama:
Randomness is the key to life.
Here you will find the random ramblings of a crunchy Christian wife and homeschooling Mama; no rhyme or reason, nothing specific, just a mix of everything natural, wife, and Mama. I’m no expert in anything, I’m not organized and I live life as it comes: RANDOMLY!!
Who is Random Mama
***hint, there is a video at the bottom of this post telling more. 😉 ***
Random Mama is a homeschooling Mama of 6 so far, a crunchy, hippy type natural Mama, a Jesus loving conservative Christian woman and a wife to her wonderful high-school sweetie.
I am no saint, I don’t have all the answers and I don’t think my way is the only way. I do things the natural way, but sometimes we just get by.
To say I am pretty disorganized is an understatement. Most that know me would say I’m extremely A.D.D.. My brain looks like a browser with 35 tabs open to 35 completely random sites all at the same time. One post might be about herbs and oils, the next might be about guns and ammo. Some days I’ll be talking about religion and politics and others it might be about school and meal planning. There is no rhyme or reason to the way my brain works.
I come from “The Crunchy Trail” where I started my blogging journey writing about real-food, herbs and natural medicine.
My back ground includes 20+ years in Emergency Medical Services, some of that spent in dispatch and Civil Process. Three years spent studying Biology at Tennessee Technological University and for about 18 years I’ve been studying herbs and practicing herbal medicine. I spent time teaching in the public school setting, part time, and as a real-estate agent for a couple of years. The last 5 years were spent as caregiver to my father-in-love who had dementia and schooling my children after we left the public school system. You might say I’m a “Jill of all trades.”
Why Random Mama?
I love sharing, I love teaching, and as my family will tell you I have an opinion on anything and everything. I enjoy natural style health and parenting, but I don’t think that is the only right way. Thus the reason for this new site, a place where ALL Mamas are welcome regardless of their parenting style, age or background.
Why did you leave The Crunchy Trail?
Technically I didn’t leave it, not yet anyway, it’s still there and all the good info will remain, or be transferred here.
However…
Last summer I spent several days praying about what to do to improve The Crunchy Trail. I was working with a family focused blogging mastermind group and all the tips and tricks they were using just weren’t working for me. No matter what I did, it just wasn’t the flourishing site I envisioned.
I am such a lover of all things crunchy, and I really wanted a place to get that information out to everyone, but I just kept feeling a pull to do more.
After many days of prayer and finally turning it over to the Lord and just saying “Lord you are going to have to be REALLY specific about where you want me to go with this”, I was shaken awake in the middle of the night to the words “RandomMama.com”. Being the doubting Thomas that I am, I immediately thought “yeah right Lord, that name is definitely taken”. Well, not only was it not taken, but it was available at the normal $12 yearly rate. So I bought it.. then I started to doubt again, so I let it sit, and sit and sit and just kept trying to work The Crunchy Trail.
Well, finally I am listening, a NEW YEAR and many prayers later, I am certain this is where I am suppose to be. I’ll still be posting all about my “crunchy” stuff, but now I can reach out to all my friends, all my Mamas, everyone. Now I can blog as randomly as I live.
WELCOME!!!
